Because physical media has a long life-cycle, and because consumers are comfortable with the DVD format, we believe that Internet-connected high definition players will become an important entertainment gateway to the home.
Technicolor’s HD Disc Initiated Services® solution is built upon the AACS (Advanced Access Content System) standard to deliver electronic content via next-generation, Internet connected Blu-ray and HD DVD disc players.
Network-connected and fully interactive discs will enable unprecedented cross-sell, up-sell and disc re-monetization opportunities utilizing the consumer-friendly and familiar DVD disc menu to provide:
- Managed copy transaction support
